BPW Australia, in partnership with Commonwealth Business Women’s Network and GSMA, is pleased to be able to present in Australia the Tech4Girls Digital Skills Workshop program, as part of the EQUALS Global Partnership.

EQUALS is a partnership of over 100 global organisations, including UN Women and leading Mobile Network providers, aimed at bridging the Digital Gender Gap and increasing women in STEAM.

The inspiring goals of the program are, by 2030:

  • To reduce the gender gap in internet access by 50%
  • To ensure 60% of women & girls have a minimum level of proficiency in sustainable digital skills and
  • For 30% of tech leaders to be women
  • We are excited by the opportunity to be part of this global effort to address a growing divide.

    Call for expressions of interest

The Australian program will be delivered by Verizon and is aimed at young women aged 18-25.

The first step is a Foundational Digital Skills one-day workshop (free to participants), which will be held virtually on Saturday November 6. Participants will receive a certificate of completion, and become part of an International network of practice.

The intent is to equip young women with a skill set which will encourage them to pursue further training leading to formal employment in STEAM. Future plans include a mentoring program and an 8-week Advanced Skills program. Attendance at the first workshop does not commit a woman to attending any future session.

We have 60 places available Australia wide.
