BPW New South Wales

BPW New South Wales has active clubs across the state, metro and regional.

Each club meets monthly and runs projects to further the aims and objectives of BPW in its local area.

Communicating, Collaborating and Collegiality

In New South Wales, our clubs provide members with strong support, mentoring, networking and lively meetings with great guest speakers. We support initiatives that provide economic empowerment to women and provide educational scholarships to local women and girls as well as support projects around the world.  We find new ways to encourage women and work with alliance partners to contribute to their projects in collaboration.

Take the next step and come and join us!

BPW NSW is committed to equal opportunities in work, business, leadership and society - non-partisan, non-denominational and part of the national BPW Australia group and the world wide international organisation in more than one hundred countries worldwide, BPW International.

Together we are committed to

  • more women in managerial positions in all areas
  • equal wages for women and men
  • better work-life balance
  • better financial security for all women

Sydney

BPW Sydney is the longest running Business and Professional Women's Club in Australia, having been established on 17 July 1939.

BPW Sydney is an active lobby group and we take full advantage of our NGO status to lobby government and corporate organisations on matters related to business and professional women, including for more women in leadership and decision-making roles.

If you would like to join with other professional and business women to advance a progressive social justice agenda focused on women’s empowerment issues related to: economic empowerment for women and women in leadership and decision-making roles, contact us.

As part of BPW Australia, the BPW Sydney club practically addresses issues facing women in the world of work.  We're also interested in developing campaign-matched education and potentially, training events.

We provide social support and networking, and give you a way to meet  people who are also interested in social issues.  We also facilitate access to the scholarships, awards, conferences and discounts on offer with BPW Australia.

Strathfield

We are a dynamic group of women who meet regularly to learn, share and network with great guest speakers.

We welcome guests and encourage new members.

We offer a friendly space for women to share their experiences, knowledge, and to seek ideas and support to improve their own lives.

It is also a great way to make new contacts and forge new friendships with a diverse group: in race, religion, culture and workplaces. The dynamics of our group encourages debate; the sharing of ideas, and the support of each other.

At meetings we provide opportunities for personal and professional development, and for exchanging ideas in a non-threatening environment.

Together we aim to make a direct contribution to promoting gender equality and improving the future of women: locally; across Australia and the World, through our International Group and our affiliation with the United Nations to realise the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Location:  Club Burwood
2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the month .

Coffs Harbour

Community

BPW Coffs Harbour has worked within the community for the past 50 years to support, encourage and empower women and girls in diverse aspects of their lives. To enable this role, BPW is responsive to the emerging changes and needs of the community. Aspects of support include lobbying local and national governments to provide a voice for women and raise awareness of needs, working alongside community organisations to facilitate dialogue and build networks and using a range of media and events to communicate issues and advocate for the needs of local women.

Networking

BPW Coffs Harbour provides a wonderful opportunity for women to meet, network and socialise with other like-minded women. Since its inception in 1972 BPW Coffs Harbour has attracted local women from diverse professional, business and industry settings.

Professional and Personal Development

As a proactive community organisation BPW Coffs Harbour members continue to maintain the established focus on professional and personal development for women and girls through the provision of annual scholarships for female students from Southern Cross University and NSW TAFE (Coffs Harbour Campus).

Events

BPW organises regular events for members and interested community members. Venues and intentions change and commonly respond to local or global themes and trends. The focus always comes back to the goals of – advocacy, mentoring, networking or projects.
