BPW Australia is a founding member of AGEC which is Australia's first independent, national body dedicated to driving to gender equality.
BPW Australia's aims align with WGEA and works to support encourage reporting, education and public debate to improving gender equality in Australian workplaces.
The federal government funds 5 national women's alliances through the Office for Women in the Commonwealth Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. These alliances have representatives from a wide range of women's organisations and play a key role in ensuring women’s voices are central in the policy development process by providing evidence based, intersectional gender equality advice and civil society expertise to government.
BPW Australia was a founding member and leader of the Economic Security for Women national alliance which had membership from a wide range of women's organisations over many years until it was defunded in 2023. www.security4women.org.au
BPW Australia is currently a member of the Working with Women Alliance. The Working with Women Alliance connects the critical areas of addressing gender-based violence and the advancement of women’s economic equality and leadership, connecting these important policy fields for greatest national impact.

BPW Australia has advocated for equal pay for work of equal value for over 70 years. In April 2009 BPW Australia determined to galvanise advocacy around the issue of equal pay and gender inequity. Membership the alliance includes 50 organisations currently representing over 300,000 women. The Equal Pay Alliance continues to work collaboratively. enabling further dialogue around other issues affecting women and workforce participation. |
