Globally, we work with UN bodies such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), World Health Organization (WHO), Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the Human Rights Council as a trusted commentator and contributor to the debate on women’s status in the world of work. BPW Australia is a member of the UN Global Compact Network Australia and a lead NGO partner in the UN’s Women’s Empowerment Principles initiative.
BPW Australia is a direct signatory to the UN Global Compact and a member of the Global Compact Network Australia .
Globally and nationally, we work with business owners, unions, employer groups and industry associations. BPW Australia is a member of COSBOA and has a good working relationship with the ACCI. We provide input and consult with government departments and enquiries to ensure that the voice of our members is heard. In this work we partner with other organisations such as Economic Security for Women (eS4w), Women on Boards and the National Council of Women of Australia. Our clubs work closely with grassroots partners such as Soroptomists and Rotary to build ‘people power’ in relation to important issues of social justice here and elsewhere.
What do we have in common? We all believe in social justice, equity and a fair go for all people.
Does this sound like you? We’re always interested in hearing from organisations that share our view that the way to improve lives is by making sure women count.
