BPW Clubs around Australia

The members of BPW meet in local clubs across Australia and come together at regular BPW Australia National Conferences.

We enjoy opportunities for development and networking, and work on issues that are important to working women. Club activities include regular meetings with inspiring speakers who inform and challenge, workshops and seminars to facilitating discussion and learning, and networking events with government and academic leaders. Clubs are active in their local community and recognise and reward women who are high achievers through various award programs.

Through the training ground of clubs, members can learn public speaking, event management and meeting procedures. These skills enable members to step up in their own workplace, gain to confidence to take on roles on boards and committees, and competently advocate for women's equality in external forums. Members meet together to share experiences, discuss views and contribute our expertise where we can to BPW projects.  Clubs provide social support and provide women with a way to meet other like-minded women who are interested in social issues and in building their personal competence and capacity.

Through clubs, we also facilitate access to the scholarships, awards, conferences and discounts on offer with BPW Australia.  BPW Australia members are also members of BPW International and can attend the triennial BPWI Congresses held around the world and the annual BPW events at the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York.

Along the way, members form lifelong friendships locally and internationally.

“Leaders may emerge with vision, creativity and directions
but it is the quality of the supporting members, the width of
experience they contribute, the depth of their determination
and interest they bring, that allows an organisation to fulfil
its aims and become the powerhouse for the members’
own development.”
