Frequently Asked Questions

Do Clubs have 3 votes at a Special Conference, the same as a National Conference?

Yes, Clubs have 3 votes but only 1 voting delegate - see section P8.3 of the BPWA Procedure Manual:

For a Special Conference

  • Clubs have 1 vote that counts as 3 votes
  • Board Members and Past Presidents have 1 vote that counts as 1 vote.

What happens to our accommodation bookings if the National Conference is deferred?

West Beach Parks Resort has reviewed their terms and conditions which have different rules depending upon the type of booking.  Some members have booked a cabin and paid a deposit and others have jumped on one of the special deals which require the full amount to be paid, so the outcomes are different. The terms and conditions relate to cancellations rather than changing a booking, so they have provided the following advice.

  • If you have booked and paid a deposit, the deposit can be credited to a deferred booking in 2021.

o   If you prefer to cancel and rebook, the deposit will be refunded less a $30 cancellation fee.

  • If you have booked a special deal and paid the full amount, the full payment can be deferred as a credit against a deferred booking in 2021.

o   There will be a small additional cost if the price goes up in the meantime.

o   If you cancel the booking, you will not receive any refund.

  • Where a group of members have shared the payment of a cabin booking but a different group of members are planning to occupy the cabin next year, you are advised to defer the booking and rework your payments amongst those who have paid already and those who intend to attend Conference in 2021.

The October 2021 bookings will not open until August this year but, if the resolution is passed on 30 April and the National Conference is deferred, members who have bookings can advise West Beach Parks Resort in May of their intention to defer their booking and can confirm their booking later this year.
